Reminder
Dress Code Reminder from Mrs. Hange:
Now that it appears that warm sunny days have finally arrived, this is just a friendly reminder from Mrs. Hange, school principal concerning the Penn dress code. The following is posted in the student agenda and is described in the school discipline letter.

Traditional school clothes are expected at Penn ES. Student dress and overall appearance must meet basic standards of health, safety, cleanliness and decency. Students are not allowed to wear or display items that promote drugs, alcohol or tobacco products, gang membership or violence. Please no bare midriffs, halter-tops, spaghetti straps or short-shorts. Sport shoes with rubber soles are recommended to support daily recess and PE classes every other day. Tennis shoes with retracting rollers and flip-flops are prohibited for safety reasons. Parents will be called to provide appropriate attire if your child is not adhering to this established dress code. If parents can not be reached, students will be offered substitute clothing from the nurse's clinic.
Thank you for checking your child's clothing before he or she leaves for school in the morning.

Prince William County School Breakfast Program

If your child isn’t hungry when first waking up, you do not have time in the morning to prepare meals or any other reason that would cause you to seek an alternate to breakfast at home, check out the Prince William County School Breakfast Program.  The school cafeteria offers a wide variety of breakfast foods each day.

Each menu includes a breakfast entree, a fruit, a juice, and milk.

A school breakfast is available for students at the cost of $1.40.
Students eligible for reduced price meals are charged 30 cents at breakfast and those on free meals can receive breakfast free of charge.  Take advantage of this convenient, economical service!

Don’t forget to set a good example for your kids and make time to grab some breakfast for yourself, as well!
