Operation Turkey
Penn Elementary will once again be participating in Operation Turkey.

We will be collecting nonperishable food items October 14th - October 24th to help those in need in Prince William County.

We donate to Action in Community through Service (ACTS). Please help Penn donate even more food this year to help those in need have a special holiday season.

The class in each grade level to bring in the most food items will earn a Turkey Charm!
Please support your school's SCA!!

Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week is an ideal way for people and communities to unite and take a visible stand against drugs (redribbon.org).  Red Ribbon week focuses on educating students about healthy choices, especially the choice to avoid drugs.   We will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week here at Penn on October 20th-24th.  Please talk to your children about the importance of being healthy and drug free.

Each day during Red Ribbon Week will have a theme.  Your child is encouraged to participate.  The following is a list of themes:
  • October 20:  Starts Red Ribbon week.  “I’m too Bright for Drugs”   Have your child wear bright colors.
  • October 21: ”Friends don’t let friends bully or do drugs.”  Have your child dress like a sibling or friend.
  • October 22:  “Sock-it to Drugs Day.”  Have your child wear mismatched or crazy socks.
  • October 23:  “Team up against drugs.”  Have your child wear a favorite team jersey/shirt.
  • October 24:  “One school one goal:  Bully & Drug Free.”  Have your child wear school colors.

Storybook Character Day!
On Friday, October 31st,
Penn Elementary students will participate in their first-ever school wide Storybook Character Day.
On that day, all staff and students are encouraged to dress up as a character from a book. ***No masks, scary costumes, or toy weapons are allowed. See how creative you can be just by using things from home that you already have!  These do not need to be expensive, store-bought costumes.  We can’t wait to see which story character is your favorite!

Fitness, Leadership, & Character.

We here at
Penn Elementary
would like to send a
big thank you to Lowes

to the library.

A special thank you goes to
Mr. Sanchez, one of our
wonderful Penn parents,
who made this possible.

Each student is given a stick

reading programs used
at school.

THANK YOU Lowes
