Summer Learning
Penn Summer Reading Lists 2014
Did you do your summer reading?   Now is the time to get your forms completed to get that extra credit!  Remember, you can turn in your Public Library Summer Quest form or the Penn Elementary form from our website.  Grades K -2 must read a minimum of 5 books and Grades 3 -5 must have read 3 books.  Bring your documentation, signed by a parent, to school by Friday, September 6th and turn them in to your classroom teacher.  All students who complete their requirements will not only earn extra credit but will also receive a special summer reading charm for their Penn Charmers chain.  Which class will have the most summer readers?  Keep checking the bulletin board outside the library to see our Finstastic Summer Readers! Click on the link to view the suggested Summer Reading Lists for rising Kindergarten through 5th grade students.  PWC Library Summer Reading Program

"Read For My Summer"
by participating in We Give Books'
Read for My Summer program. Every week, Read for My Summer highlights a special book for you and your child to read online from the We Give Books library. Adding to the fun are engaging activities and reading tips that make each book come to life, including custom activities from ReadWriteThink, an initiative of the International Reading Association and the National Council of Teachers of English. The free, 10-week program helps parents, schools, and libraries offer children an exciting online reading experience. Start reading today!

Free, Online, Homework Help :)
Now you can help connect your student to a state-certified teacher through Literati Public. The Online teacher will work through homework problems, step by step, until the student is finished. This is real time homework help, available at no cost through Literati Public at your public library.

We here at
Penn Elementary
would like to send a
big thank you to Lowes
for donating paint sticks
to the library.

A special thank you goes to
Mr. Sanchez, one of our
wonderful Penn parents,
who made this possible.

Each student is given a stick
that has their ID number,
reading level, user name
and password for the
reading programs used
at school.

THANK YOU Lowes
& Mr. Sanchez
for supporting
the literacy
program here
at Penn!
